Things You Can Have Brought to the Villa: Chefs, Groceries, Massages, Cribs

October 24, 2026

One of the real advantages of a villa over a hotel room is that the island will come to you. Not everyone knows that, so people spend their first morning in a grocery store and their anniversary dinner in a car.

Here's what you can actually have delivered or brought in, and our honest read on which ones earn their cost.

Provisioning: the one we recommend most

You can have the villa stocked with groceries, drinks, and essentials before you walk in the door. Concierge services handle it; you send a list, it's in the fridge when you arrive.

This is the highest-value thing on the page, and it's not close. Arrival day on St. Thomas is longer than people plan for — the drive from the airport alone can run forty-five minutes — and the difference between landing into a stocked kitchen and landing into a supermarket run is the difference between starting your holiday that evening or the next morning.

If you'd rather do the shop yourself, that's fine too, and we've written about where to go and what it costs. Just decide before you fly, not in the arrivals hall.

Private chef: worth it for one night, not seven

Local chefs will come to the villa and cook a multi-course meal in your kitchen. For a group — a birthday, a milestone, a multigenerational week where getting twelve people into a restaurant is its own project — this is genuinely excellent, and often less painful than the equivalent restaurant bill once you count drinks and two taxis.

For a couple on a normal Tuesday, it's a lot. Book it once, on the night that matters, and cook the rest.

Both our kitchens are set up for actual cooking, not just reheating — more on that here.

In-villa spa and massage

Licensed therapists will come to you with a table. Spa To Go VI operates right at Sapphire Beach and does massages, facials, and body treatments on site.

The honest case for this isn't luxury, it's logistics: a massage you don't have to drive to, at the hour you actually want one, on a deck with the trade wind going. It's the most villa-ish thing on this list.

Baby gear: rent it, don't fly it

Cribs, strollers, car seats, and high chairs can all be delivered to the villa. If you're travelling with a small child, this is the single best money you'll spend on the trip — airline handling of a travel crib is a gamble, and you'll want the car seat waiting anyway.

It pairs with the thing we tell every family: a lot of the gear you're planning to pack is already in the villa.

What's already there, so you don't double up

Both Sapphire Beach and Mahogany Seaview come with Starlink WiFi, a full kitchen, a coffee maker, beach chairs, coolers, and snorkel gear. Sapphire adds direct beach access and a grill.

So: don't rent snorkel gear, don't buy a cooler, don't pack beach chairs. Spend the budget on the chef night and the provisioning instead.

The short version

Provision the kitchen before you arrive. Book the chef once. Get the massage mid-week. Rent the baby gear. Everything else, the villa already has.
